Why should I get a brooch?

Let's start from the beginning and understand why brooches have been worn for centuries throughout culture and social classes.

Firstly designed to be functional to close a cloak or hold fabric together they became very luxurious and decorative through time. In the Middle age, brooches were more used, like today we will use a pin, to show allegiance to a particular group or person. They were also used to show grief or mourning. In the Renaissance, brooches became more decorative and elaborate. Precious stones were definitely introduced, still used for patriotism or devotion, they were also used as to show a status. In the 19th century, the emergence and popularity of brooches became undeniable, used to ornate a cocktail dress and/or used as a fashion trend. In the 20th century, still as a touch of glamour brooches were still used to deliver a saying or symbol to pass a message while being fashionable.

Today messages are delivered in another way (most often involving a #), but brooches are still worn by men or women to express a personal style, fashion, message, and beliefs. They can be found in various metals and ornamentation. Some coaches are encouraging people to go back to books and nature. Brooches are a touch of personality and style to your outfit, to differentiate yourself. When choosing a brooch consider your style, dedication, love, and message you wish to pass on, as well as the occasion to wear it.
