Tourmalines can come in any colours you can think of. They might cary a different name than Tourmaline if they are red (Rubellite), bright electric blue to green (Paraiba).
Tourmaline comes out of the ground in a trigonal form, they often have striation along the length of the crystal.
Most Tourmalines are coming out of Brazil or Africa (Tanzania, Mozambique).

You'll find tourmaline primarily in two types of rock: Granite and metamorphic rocks.
Within these rock types, tourmaline forms under specific conditions involving high temperatures and the presence of specific elements like boron, aluminum, and various others depending on the tourmaline variety.
Tourmaline is a widespread mineral, but it's not very common in large quantities and large crystals. It's typically found as scattered crystals within rocks.
